Blog- free choice
After reading further in the Story of the "Hatelist" by Jennifer Brown, my views that I had about certain characters have changed in many ways. I use to think that Nick Levil was just an angry boy who hated most of the other kids at Garvin High. But reading further in the story I see how he was picked on and tormented by his peers for no reason. A person can only take so much of that treatment without wanting to fight back.People handle situations in different ways. Valerie created the list of people she didn't like and that was the way she handled her problems, by making a list of them. But the difference between her and Nick is that thats where it ended with Valerie, but Nick had different and deadly plans for the people who were on the list. I even have a different opinion about Jessica Campbell now. She was one of the main students on the list for calling Valerie names and bothering her. But after the shooting happened and Valerie unintentionally saved her life they became good friends. Valerie's close friend Stacy became very distant and non-social with her after the accident. It just goes to show that people react to situations differently. Personally, if I was in Nick's shoes, I would have handled the situation much differently. You don't have to change your persona or who you are just to fit in. Not saying I wouldnt have got in a fight with some of those kids, I just wouldn't go about the matter by making a Hatelist and killing the students it enlisted.

Very perceptive blog, Ardmore. It's tough to say where Nick's blame started and ended. He was a agent of violence, but he was also a victim.
